25 Random Things

The blog edition! For Facebook noobs like meh...

1. I am in love with Miyano Mamoru's awesome voice-acting skillzzz.

2. Currently, it feels like my world is threatening to come crashing down with much wailing and gnashing of teeth because I idiotically read a review of Jack Kerley's new book Blood Brother and it seems like another devastating let-down after Jeff Lindsay's Dexter in the Dark. I'm not saying they're trash not worth reading, but DitD felt really incongruous with the previous two books (which were awesome) and now the review suggests that Jeremy Ridgecliff's character takes a highly incongruous turn in BB. Seriously, inconsistency does NOT equal effective plot twist, whether plot-wise or character-wise. That being said, I will still be eager to read BB to find out for myself and all I can say is

3. JEREMY RIDGECLIFF DON'T YOU DARE FAIL ME NOW, YOU ADORABLE PSYCHOTIC BASTARD YOU

4. But I am still quite peeved that Kerley gave him a first name I can't shout with obsessive enthusiasm in public due to certain... associations =_=

5. I want a new set of badminton rackets :/ My old ones are starting to rust and I realise they're quite heavy.

6. Every time I hang up the laundry at night, I look out the living room windows and realise how magical the downstairs place looks like from up here. One day I will go down late late at night, but just early enough to catch the lights go out, then I will light my tea-candle lamp and talk to the wind.

7. I miss people every day.

8. I refuse to believe Obama might be the Antichrist. I'm sure Obama is nicer than that, and I'm sure the Antichrist will be something a bit more creative than a President of the United States of America. Whatever he turns out to be, I hope he's European :)

9. I love how exhilaratingly depressed The Dark Knight makes me feel every time I watch it.

10. Unexpected Access airs its first episode tonight! Dead bodies! I eagerly await. Alas, The Pianist is also showing at the same time, but luckily UA is only 30 minutes long, so I can switch fast fast.

11. Reminder to self: Tuesday nights are crime nights on Channel 5.

12. I think I'm one of that handful of kids who constantly begged for cable tv not for Cartoon Network or Disney Channel but for Discovery and Nat Geog o_o

13. Aah, 13, how have you been?

14. Vivien went to Jakarta without telling me, WHAT KIND OF FRIEND ARE YOU AH VIVIEN

15. I am just waiting for a couple of halfwits to start denouncing Charlie the Unicorn for subliminal Satanic content seeing as how it seems de rigueur to attack anything remotely resembling a kids' show in halfwit circles. (FYI children, please do not watch Charlie the Unicorn when your parents are around, it is not exactly feel-good family entertainment. Hilarious, but nevertheless not feel-good family material.)

16. I suck at those Monopolyesque board games because when I acquire the companies I want (eg. Hershey's, Barnes & Noble) I get so excitedly content that I forget you're supposed to acquire a minimum of X companies before you can level up in the game. A perfect example of this was playing Risky Business with Ellie, Dawn, Estelle and Silk that fateful fateful night.

17. I can't wait to watch Equilibrium and The Machinist.

18. While grocery shopping in Cold Storage a few weeks ago, Hatsune Miku's version of the Levan Polka started playing on my ipod during shuffle. In such situations, there really is only one thing you can do: grab a leek from the veggies section and wave it in time to the beat. If you would like something more challenging, try doing that while pushing your supermarket trolley around. It's tough but after awhile you get the hang of it.

19. The age I will be in approximately 5 months and 6 days.

20. Cafe Cartel is living proof that man can and will live by bread alone, especially when even the butter is free.

21. If they screw up the FMA remake like they did with the later episodes of the first series, I will have to personally make a business trip to Japan.

22. Please do not compare Huntik to Avatar, IT IS NOWHERE NEAR. Burn down Rainbow Studios and find some actual voice-acting for the damn show before you whine to me again.

23. ARGH I KNEW IT.

24. I can't believe I watched Harold & Kumar Go To White Castle with my ten-year-old sister around. I should burn in Soccer Moms Hell, I should.

25. Duct tape is your friend.
